The idea of optimising performance racing or cruising is at the base of this project - The fundamental factor is being able to use this type of vessel in line with IMS regulations. According to R.Vrolijk, this craft represents another challenge, as this 60-feet one-off wants to participate in races with both IMS and IRC regulations - The hull has a long bow to be able to exploit its maximum waterline length. The sail plan is slightly fractional and this layout, with a jib at 110%, will make the boat extremely competitive in races, both with IMS and IRC regulations. The idea of using angled spreaders without backstay will further improve sailing close hauled - High-level technology can be seen in the use of carbon fibre laminates, pre-impregnated with epoxy resins on a core of Corecell - As far as concerns the electronics, these will include B&G instrumentation, ultrasonic speedometer, onboard computer, wireless touch screen for races, mini coms satellite, GSM SATELLITE telephone, VHF radio, radio with CD, and 20” flat screen TV. Autonomy is guaranteed by a 600 litre water tank and a 400 litre fuel tank. The boat will be powered by a Yanmar75 Hp diesel engine with two-fin prop for racing and four fin prop when cruising.
