Back on the market and except a few minor cosmetic things, turn key ready. Due to health issues this Contender had sat unused on a new aluminum triple axel trailer for 2 years. Listed and under contract in 72 hours, during survey, as you would expect with a boat that had sat, numerous issues discovered. Owner has always maintained so with survey as a repair checklist – boat went to shop. She’s back and ready for a new family and friends to enjoy.
Engines have just over 1200 hours. Both engines full 300 hour service (plugs, oils, filters, thermostat, gear lube, impellers, anodes, etc) and new V Belt. This time she performed as owner expected, sea trial slightly loaded 40mph at 6100 rpm.
Instant hot water heater had failed during survey. Installed and tested new water heater. Fully tested and working correctly.
AC system thoroughly checked, outlet plugged and cleaned. It’s chilling the cabin!
One bilge pump tested bad, replaced.
The Kholer generator had failed to start during survey. Fuel system cleaned. Control module replaced. Tested and working.
The list goes on – the survey became the ‘get it fixed’ list
Minor cosmetics new owner will address: headliner in cabin falling in a few places. Helm seat cushion worn and ‘sunburned’. A couple of places on zipper on the full enclosure still need repair. Boat is ready to go to the Bahamas, fishing or to the sandbar.
2006 Contender Side Console (aka Express). Designed for fisherman, divers and especially for friends and family, this boat is turnkey ready. Divers can climb the 4 step stainless ladder, rinse with the transom fresh water shower and walk through the solid transom door into the large open cockpit. The cockpit is designed for fishing. A 38-gallon live bait well is centered aft, Lee rod holders in each gunnel, 8-rod holders on the hard top and 4 mounted on the helm seat back for quick access. The removable kill box in the deck is almost the size of a small hot tub! To port a bait station with wash-down, cutting board and deep sink. Outriggers are Rupp Top Guns and currently rigged and ready to deploy.
Stepping up the helm is located to starboard. A full suite of Raymarine electronics, MFD, depth sounder (Airmar thru hull), chart plotter, radar, VHF, digital depth (2nd Airmar transducer), Clarion stereo, trim tab and bow thruster control. All instruments are thoughtfully positioned around the stainless steering wheel. The helm seat is just wide enough for two (note, back cushion is worn! It’s the only really worn cushion on the boat). Forward of the helm your friends and family can enjoy the shade riding in a lounge and L shape seating. The cushions are in very good condition. When the weather turns nasty, continue your ride inside the new Isinglass curtains.
Going forward thru the sliding door step into the air-conditioned cabin. To port the solid counter top galley includes a microwave, cooktop and sink and storage. To starboard a small refrigerator, the main electric control panel and aft the head. Forward a V berth for two, which converts into a dining area or with two bunk cushions the cabin sleeps 4.
Powered by twin 250hp 4 stroke Yamahas owner reports she cruises in the low 30s with WOT around 40. Roughly 1235 hours on each engine. Following 8/10/20 full service lightly loaded sea trial ran 40mph at 6100 rpm
Shorepower, NEW Kohler generator, hot water and air conditioning create the comfort your family and friends will appreciate.
Owner had spared no expense for maintenance (all records available). Lift kept for many years, the bottom painted for annual months long stays in the Bahamas. Just before Thanksgiving 2018 a new 15,000 triple axel Continental trailer was purchased and the boat moved on the trailer and into the yard where mechanics run the engines regularly. She is ready for her new owner and priced quite well for all the features.
