Very unique TOURNAMENT BRIDGE and GALLEY FORWARD layout.
This sportfisher is in excellent condition.
“The Mediterranean 54 is a high-performance, semi-custom,
modified deep-V convertible sportfishing and cruising yacht. Her hull
design provides a smooth ride and achieves better performance with
less fuel consumption making her very economical. A cut-away
forefoot with relatively wide chines forward helps deflect spray while
the width of the downward angle chines, broadening to large
running surfaces aft, helps to quickly lift the boat to a plane and
steady the hull in a beam sea. The upsweep aft of the hull’s fairbody
keel line reduces resistance and provides a low running angle of
attack for maximum performance. The interior layouts and details
provide a luxurious, comfortable refuge after a long day of fighting fish.
This 54 is one of the last two built. She is in top condition with owner pride obvious.
She was built for a buyer who resided in Monterey Ca. to fish salmon and albacore tuna offshore. buyer had builder in stall a third control station in the forward salon for comfort during tuna trips and for easy access to controls while trolling salmon, Also had hand rails around the cockpit for extra safety.
I personally fish 54 Meds for the past ten years selling 12 out of the 22 built. This boat was specifically designed for west coast use. She has a large cockpit with a built in the transom bait tank. She has freeboard waist high. There is no deck crowning of decks anywhere on board for maximum comfort. The engine room access is from the cockpit. The engine room is one of the top features of this sport sedan close to 6 feet. The engine room is beam to beam so there is great access around the engine for easy servicing. The engine room has a fiberglass liner for easy cleaning.
Going to the forward deck there is a California hand rail starting at the cockpit and running to the bow pulpit. The side decks are flat and wide allowing one to walk straight forward with room to spare. Once forward there is a large foredeck with flat decks again for easy walking and safety. The large bow pulpit is the peak of the boat with a windlass, chain and rode.
Going to the bridge is by way of a wide ladder with minimal steps. Once up on the bridge there is to helms chairs set aft of the tournament control station. There is great visibility both forward and cockpit aft. Visabity is 360' from this station. There is additional seating for 6 guests comfortably on the bridge.
Going into the salon there is a full galley aft a dining table left and a bar separating the galley and the salon with two bar stools and counter. Large windows all around the salon for great visuality when under way or at anchor.
Going forward there is three stardoms each having double berths with the owners stateroom have a queen island berth and the other two staterooms having full berths with cross bunk beds.
There are 2 spacious heads with showers. Opening ports for ventalation.
The stability of the boat is best with the 16 foot beam at watering make her stable enough not to need being stabilized.
I have been boating the Santa Barbara Channel for the past 60 years and selling yachts since 2006 owning and operating my own charter boats for 15 years. Operated and fished on most every brand of sport fisher from 22 to 80 feet and can say the 54 Med has a great balance of quality feature like no other. If you ar looking for a boat from 50 to 65 feet take time to come aboard a 54 Med.
I have fished the 54 100 times and have yet find a single fault in quality or performance.
Call me for a showing.
